16/3/08 First field trip with Dominique, François et Rémi, members of Harrier Group - 47, near Duras.
A female 4 years old Hen Harrier has been controlled the 5/05/08 at the Réserve naturelle des Marais de Séné (Golfe du Morbihan) more than 350 Km away from his hatching site. Ringed and tagged as a chick at St Ciers sur Gironde the 19/06/05 , this bird wasn’t seen since that time.!
It was chassing over a little marsh area.
Interestings controls of Montagu’s Harrier lately:
- 1 Femalle chicken ringed at Hourtin on the 12/07/07 has been spotted in the Canton du Valais in Switzerland the 3/05/08 ....(red dots)
- 1 Chicken ringed at Salaunes the 5/07/07 has been controlled at Codo in Spain (near Zaragoza) the 26/05/08 (blue dots)
COVA, a femalle Montagu’s Harrier with an Argos satellite transmitter installed, is nesting (4 chicks) in the sourroundings of Marmande. Transmitter was installed in Spain (Castellon) by R. Limiñana.
